Sarah focuses her practice on assisting small business owners as well as the elderly, individuals with special needs, and their families. She is experienced in the fields of estate planning and administration, will contests and disputes, elder law, guardianships and conservatorships, small business formation, employment contracts and terminations, succession planning, nonprofit law, creditor’s rights and debt collections, real estate, and landlord-tenant matters. She is a certified guardian ad litem for incapacitated adults and is admitted to practice in all state courts in Virginia, the Federal District Court of the Eastern District of Virginia, and the Bankruptcy Court of the Eastern District of Virginia. Sarah is familiar with the industry-specific needs of Realtors and landlords, veterinary and animal-related businesses, and health care professionals.
Sarah graduated from Pace University School of Law, magna cum laude, and from Virginia Tech, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science in biology and a Bachelor of Arts in interdisciplinary studies. She served as the women’s team captain and president of the Virginia Tech Fencing Club. During law school, Sarah competed with the Animal Law Moot Court Team and the Quinnipiac Trial Advocacy Team. She served as an editor of the Pace Law Journal and a research assistant for Prof. David Cassuto, with whom she co-published two articles.
Sarah is native to Hampton Roads and is proud to serve her community in her career and through civic organizations. Sarah is the president of the Greater Peninsula Women’s Bar Association and on the conference planning committee for the Virginia Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She is also a member of the Virginia Creditor’s Bar Association and several local bar associations. Sarah serves on the board of the Rotary Club of Oyster Point and the District 7600 Rotary Alumni Association. She is the recipient of the 2016 Rotarian of the Year Award, 2018 Community Service and Citizenship Award, and a member of the Rotary Bequest Society. Sarah also serves on committees for the Peninsula Taskforce on Aging and VersAbility Resources, Inc. Sarah also enjoys local book clubs, yoga, and recreational sports.
